The Sciallino “gozzo” lands in Japan … powered by an hybrid engine

Our first hybrid powered craft (diesel and electrical engine) will be introduced at the Yokohama boat show (March 3-6, 2011).

We are now developing a modern and ecological boat, based on our classic sport fisherman S23C model. The Steyr engine (running diesel mode) will drive the Sciallino’s to the open Japanese sea and ocean, thus emphasizing the hull’s strength and seaworthiness. On the other hand, one could turn the diesel off, to activate the electrical mode: the “gozzo” hull will softly glide by the shore, quiet and respectful for the environment, with the great efficiency of full displacement cruising.

The project will be called by a new name, that will be revealed along with technological features, developed during next winter.

The Sciallino presence in Japan will be completed one sport-fisherman S25.
